VolunteerThe base is always looking for volunteers to join our existing team on a long term, short term and one off basis.
If you are aged 18 or over and can commit to working one evening a week on a regular basis (or more evenings if you can!) we’d love you to get in touch. If you don’t think you can commit to a regular evening each week but have a skill that you’d like to share with a group of young people either as a one off or as a semi-regular basis then please let us know as we’re always keen to offer as many wide and varied experiences as possible.
You don’t need to have any experience as we’ll give you a full induction and training, as well as sending you on all the courses you need to make sure you do the role to the best of your abilities. We’ll also help guide you towards obtaining your ASDAN Award for Volunteering if you want a formal qualification from your time with us.
If you have experience working with either Youth Groups or SEN Groups then it’s a bonus – but if you don’t and just want to develop your skills then that’s okay – all we ask is that you are enthusiastic!
Previous volunteers have included students who worked with us as part of their course. After recently completing his volunteering one UEA Graduate said:
''I have managed to gain great experience working with a wide variety of young people and secured a full time job at the end of my time here! I would strongly advise anyone looking to gain experience with young people in and out of school enviroment. ''
If any of the above sounds interesting and you want to know more then please email email@example.com
Please note that all roles are subject to a successful DBS check
